BPM recognises its responsibility to operate ethically, transparently, and sustainably. We are dedicated to minimising our environmental impact, promoting social value, and upholding robust governance practices. ESG considerations are integral to our business strategy and day-to-day operations, reflecting our commitment to long-term value creation for all stakeholders.
3. ESG Monitoring & Reporting Areas
We will actively monitor and report on the following ESG areas, ensuring continuous improvement and transparency:
Environmental
- Energy and Carbon Management: Monitoring and minimising greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1, 2, and, where relevant, Scope 3), energy consumption, and supporting net zero ambitions (e.g., NHS Net Zero 2045, UK Net Zero 2050)
- Sustainable Procurement: Integrating environmental criteria into supplier selection and procurement processes.
- Resource Efficiency: Reducing waste, promoting recycling, and efficient use of resources in operations and service delivery.
Social
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, ensuring equal opportunities, and supporting staff wellbeing.
- Employee Engagement and Development: Providing ongoing training, professional development, and a safe, supportive work environment.
- Community Impact: Supporting local communities, digital health access, and social value initiatives aligned with healthcare sector needs.
- Data Privacy and Security: Upholding the highest standards of patient and customer data protection and cybersecurity, in compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, Australian Privacy Act)
Governance
- Leadership and Accountability: Oversight of ESG strategy by the Board of Directors and an ESG Lead/Steering Committee, with regular reporting to the Board
- Ethical Conduct and Compliance: Ensuring business integrity, anti-corruption, and compliance with all applicable laws and sector regulations in Australia and the UK.
- Transparency and Reporting: Publishing an annual ESG report outlining progress, challenges, and future objectives, adhering to relevant frameworks and stakeholder expectations
4. Governance Structure
- The Board of Directors is responsible for ESG oversight and strategic direction.
- The ESG Lead or Steering Committee coordinates ESG initiatives, monitors progress, and ensures compliance.
- All staff are expected to integrate ESG principles into their daily activities and raise any concerns or improvement opportunities
5. Compliance & Frameworks
Big Picture Medical will align its ESG monitoring and reporting with leading international and national frameworks, including (as applicable):
- Australia: AASB S2 Climate-related Disclosures, ASIC Regulatory Guide 280, and relevant sustainability and privacy legislation
- UK: UK Sustainability Reporting Standards (UK SRS S1/S2), Companies Act requirements, Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR), and TCFD-aligned disclosures.
- Healthcare Sector: NHS Evergreen Assessment, NHS England Green Plan Guidance, and other sector-specific standards where required
6. Review and Continuous Improvement
This policy will be reviewed annually, with regular internal audits of ESG practices and procedures. We will update our approach as regulations, stakeholder expectations, and best practices evolve, ensuring ongoing relevance and effectiveness
